The Root of the Matter is an investigation quest that traces the origin of an ARC signal to its source.

Objectives

1. Detect the ARC signal using the provided scanner
2. Follow the signal through 4 trace points
3. Locate the signal source (underground ARC relay)
4. Destroy or hack the relay
5. Extract with the collected data

Tips

• Similar to With a Trace but harder — more ARC resistance
• The underground relay has heavy ARC presence — bring combat-focused weapons
• Hacking the relay (instead of destroying) gives bonus data worth extra credits
• Tech build with Hacker skill recommended
