Jupiter – Arc Raiders NPC & Quest Guide

Jupiter Overview

The Jupiter is a Legendary bolt-action sniper rifle in Arc Raiders — widely regarded as the hardest-hitting weapon in the game. It uses Energy Clips, raises the highest damage cap above the Ferro and Anvil, and its very strong ARC armor penetration lets shots punch straight into ARC unit cores instead of bouncing off plating.

Jupiter carries the Experimental trait, which is why it cannot be upgraded the way standard weapons can. You don’t level it up — you craft it once at the right Gunsmith tier, and it stays a Legendary baseline.

How to Get the Jupiter

Jupiter is craft-only — it doesn’t drop from boss loot tables or appear as ground loot. To craft one, you need the learned Jupiter blueprint and the following materials at Gunsmith level 3:

  • 3x Magnetic Accelerator
  • 3x Complex Gun Parts
  • 1x Queen Reactor

The Queen Reactor is the gating ingredient. It’s a high-tier ARC drop, so plan your raids around farming it before you commit the rest of the materials.

Why Jupiter Is the Pick for Heavy Targets

Two things separate Jupiter from every other sniper in the game:

  • Damage cap. Jupiter raises the highest possible damage number above what the Ferro or Anvil can hit. Combined with the 2.0x headshot multiplier, a clean shot drops Light and Medium shielded raiders extremely fast.
  • ARC armor penetration. Most weapons need to chew through plating before they reach a core. Jupiter’s penetration is rated Very Strong — rounds bypass ARC armor and hit the core directly. That makes it one of the few weapons that can credibly burn down a Bastion or Bombardier from cover.

The projectiles are not hitscan, but they have virtually no bullet drop, so leading is minimal even at long range. Treat it like a hitscan rifle for engagement planning.

Best Use Cases

  • Boss fights. Jupiter is the recommended pick (alongside the Hullcracker) for the Matriarch. Bring 8 stacks solo or 4 in a group.
  • Anti-shield duels. One shot to a Light shield is usually a finisher; Medium shields fold to a head/body combo.
  • Big-ARC clearing. Bastion and Bombardier cores are reachable without softening the plating first.
  • Cover sniping. The 73.5 stability and minimal bullet drop reward holding angles over rotating — pair it with the stealth build for ambush play.

Trade-offs

  • Mag of 5 means you commit to your shots. No spray, no panic fire.
  • 9.0 weight is heavy — budget loadout space accordingly.
  • Energy Clips are not as common as standard rifle ammo. Bring a backup for chip damage.
  • Cannot be upgraded, so you can’t push its stats further once crafted.
