Best Weapons to Pair It With
The +15% fire rate is most valuable on weapons where time-to-kill at close range matters more than recoil control. SMGs benefit the most:
- Bobcat — The standout pick. The Converter turns the Bobcat into a brutal close-quarters shredder; the recoil tradeoff is mostly absorbed because you’re already close.
- Kettle — Same logic. Faster cycling for CQC duels.
- Stitcher / Arpeggio — Strong choices when you want to cut through Light/Medium shields faster in tight spaces.
The Converter is a poor fit for ranged precision platforms even when they’re on the compatible list — the extra recoil reduces effective range, which defeats the point of bringing a long-range gun.
How to Get the Kinetic Converter
There is no blueprint for the Kinetic Converter, so it can’t be crafted at the workbench. The only way to get one is by scavenging it as ground loot or from container drops during raids. It’s a Legendary, so the drop rate is low — expect to find them in the same kinds of high-tier loot pockets where other Legendary mods spawn.
Because it’s not deterministically obtainable, the practical advice is the same as for any high-tier scavenged item: extract everything you find, store the Converter in your stash until you have a weapon worth slotting it on, and never sell it for the 7,000 Coins listed price — the equip value far exceeds the merchant value.

- Compensate elsewhere. A muzzle device that reduces recoil is the natural pair — bring the fire rate up, bring the recoil back down.
- Don’t put it on Aphelion casually. Aphelion is on the compatible list, but its damage profile rewards precision. Try it, but don’t be surprised if you prefer a stability mod there.
