Baron Husk & the Dormant Barons Quest
What Is a Baron Husk?
A Baron Husk is not an enemy you fight — it’s a breachable ARC loot container, the dormant wreck of a Baron left to be salvaged. You’ll recognise one as a giant downed machine: a large central husk with mechanical legs scattered around it. Despite older guides calling Baron a “mid-boss,” the Barons themselves no longer roam the Rust Belt; what you encounter now are their husks.
The Baron’s Lore
Per the in-game codex, the Baron was “the pinnacle of ARC’s machines during the First Wave” — a powerful six-legged mechanical walker with an imposing build, heavy attacks, and surprisingly adaptive behaviour, a genuine threat to First Wave Raiders. After the last Baron fell, they vanished from the Rust Belt, though rumours place survivors in the remote reaches of Calabretta. The husks you loot today are the remnants of that fallen line.
The Dormant Barons Quest
The Dormant Barons quest tasks you with locating and looting Baron Husks out in the world. Helpfully, the husks sit in fixed spawn locations — they appear in the same place every raid — so once you know where one is, you can return to it reliably.
A useful quirk: if another player has already breached a husk before you arrive, you can still search it to get quest credit, so you don’t have to win a race to the loot.
How to Loot a Baron Husk
- Scout first. Breaching a husk is loud and draws nearby enemies and raiders — clear or check your surroundings before you commit.
- Climb the central section. Use the legs and frame to get up onto the main body where the breach point sits.
- Interact with the breach mechanism in the middle of the husk to crack it open.
- Roll away immediately. Breaching triggers a burst of fire — roll clear of the centre so you don’t get caught in the flames.
- Loot once the flames subside. Move back in and collect the salvage.
Confirmed Locations
Baron Husks appear across the maps; the most reliably documented are on Dam Battlegrounds:
- Left of the Water Treatment Control area
- The Old Battleground area
Because the spawns are fixed, these same spots produce a husk every raid — ideal for repeat farming.

Baron Husks are rich ARC-material caches. Confirmed drops include ARC Powercells, ARC Alloy, ARC Circuitry, ARC Coolant, ARC Flex Rubber, ARC Motion Core, ARC Performance Steel, ARC Synthetic Resin, and ARC Thermo Lining, alongside damaged/degraded variants of these materials.
