Arc Raiders Expedition Guide & Tracker
What Are Expeditions in Arc Raiders?
Expeditions are the core gameplay loop in Arc Raiders. Each expedition drops you into a hostile zone where you must scavenge resources, complete objectives, and extract before the ARC overwhelms your position. Understanding how expeditions work is the key to progressing in Arc Raiders.
How Expeditions Work
Every expedition follows a similar structure:
- Deploy — Choose your loadout and select a zone. You can deploy solo or with a squad of up to three players.
- Explore & Loot — Search buildings, containers, and ARC wreckage for valuable items, crafting materials, and blueprints.
- Complete Objectives — Optional objectives provide bonus rewards. These range from eliminating specific ARC units to recovering data drives.
- Extract — Reach an extraction point and survive the extraction timer. Everything in your backpack is yours to keep — but if you die, you lose it all.
Expedition Zones
Arc Raiders currently features eight expedition zones, each with distinct environments, loot tables, and difficulty levels:
| Zone | Difficulty | Best Loot | Key Feature |
|---|---|---|---|
| Victory Ridge | Medium | Rare weapons, blueprints | Central Tower with guaranteed rare loot |
| Dam Battlegrounds | Medium-Hard | Weapon parts, electronics | Armory with high-tier weapon cache |
| Dustbowl | Easy-Medium | Prickly Pear, crafting materials | Best farming zone for plant resources |
| The Shallows | Easy | Mushrooms, basic materials | Beginner-friendly with low ARC density |
| Iron Valley | Hard | Titanium, Carbon Fiber | Military outpost with rare material spawns |
| Ember Fields | Medium | Mixed materials | Bunker with blueprint spawns |
| Frozen Reach | Very Hard | Legendary blueprints | Observatory — only source of some Legendary items |
| Scrapyard | Medium-Hard | Circuit Boards, tech components | Tech Lab with gadget blueprints |
Expedition Tips for Beginners
- Start with The Shallows or Dustbowl — Lower ARC density means fewer deadly encounters while you learn the game
- Always mark your extraction — Before going deep into a zone, open the map and mark the nearest extraction point
- Travel light at first — Bring a basic loadout so you have less to lose if you die
- Listen for audio cues — ARC machines make distinct sounds. A low hum means a patrol is nearby; a high-pitched whine means you have been detected
- Use the interactive map — Our map shows loot spawns, extraction points, and boss locations for every zone
Expedition Rewards
What you extract is what you keep. Rewards scale with zone difficulty:
- Easy zones: Common and Uncommon materials, basic weapon parts
- Medium zones: Uncommon and Rare materials, weapon blueprints
- Hard zones: Rare and Epic materials, armor blueprints, high-tier weapons
- Very Hard zones: Epic and Legendary materials, Legendary blueprints (Frozen Reach only)
Advanced Expedition Strategies
Speed Running
For experienced players, speed running easy zones is the most efficient way to farm common materials. Deploy, hit 3-4 loot locations on a memorized route, extract. Repeat. You can complete a Dustbowl speed run in under 5 minutes.
Boss Farming
Boss ARC units spawn in fixed locations and drop guaranteed rare items. The ARC Sentinel in Victory Ridge and the ARC Harvester in Dam Battlegrounds are the most farmable bosses. Check spawn timers on our interactive map.
Squad Coordination
In a three-player squad, assign roles: one player focuses on combat (clearing ARC patrols), one on looting, and one on navigation/extraction prep. This division of labor dramatically increases your success rate and loot per hour.
