Arc Raiders Frozen Trail Update — What We Know (Launching October 8, 2026)

Frozen Trail is the next major Arc Raiders update, confirmed by Embark Studios for October 8, 2026. It’s the first big content drop since Riven Tides, and it brings a brand-new map, a new ARC Operation, a new ARC enemy, and a new social space called the Outpost. It also marks the moment the Cred currency is retired.

Release Date

October 8, 2026. Embark announced the date on August 12, 2026. As with previous major updates, expect the patch to go live with an accompanying set of full patch notes on the day — we’ll publish the complete 1.47-era breakdown here the moment it drops.

Confirmed for Frozen Trail

Everything in this list has been officially confirmed by Embark. Anything not on it is still unannounced.

  • A new map. Embark describes Frozen Trail as “our newest map” — the successor location after Riven Tides.
  • A new ARC Operation. A new endgame-style operation in the vein of the ARC Assessor (Flashpoint) and Avian Alarm project chains.
  • A new ARC. At least one new ARC enemy type ships with the update.
  • The Outpost. A new location/space introduced with Frozen Trail.
  • A Camera gadget. Embark has confirmed an in-world Camera coming to the Rust Belt in the October update — a photo tool for capturing raids. Details (zoom, filters, whether shots are stored in an in-game album) aren’t confirmed yet.
  • A “new high-level challenge.” Embark describes the frozen map and its ARC as designed to “challenge the ways you’ve learned to move” — framed as the biggest expansion since launch, with deeper progression.
  • Cred retirement. The Cred currency is retired with this update — unspent Cred expires on October 8. See the Cred expiration guide.
  • Expeditions pause after this. The current Expedition 5 is the last until early 2027; the system is being reworked (or possibly scrapped) and won’t run again during the Frozen Trail era. Full context in our Expeditions guide.

To keep this page accurate, here is what we are deliberately not claiming until Embark confirms it:

  • The map’s name, zones, and points of interest.
  • The name and mechanics of the new ARC enemy.
  • The name and reward track of the new ARC Operation.
  • Any new weapons, gadgets, or balance changes.
  • Whether Frozen Trail introduces a replacement currency for Cred, and what the conversion (if any) looks like.

What to Do Before October 8

  • Spend all of your Cred. This is the only irreversible deadline. Any Cred left when Frozen Trail goes live is gone — buy from Shani or claim Raider Deck rewards now. Full plan in the Cred guide.
  • Finish time-limited projects. Wrap up the 1.45.0 “Ascending the Mountain” project and any Expedition 5 progress you care about before the season rolls.
  • Bank your best gear. Major updates often reset or reshuffle progression — secure the loadouts you want to carry in.
