Weapon Durability in Arc Raiders

Weapons and gear in Arc Raiders degrade with use. Patch 1.26.0 (April 28, 2026) overhauled how durability works — most importantly, durability loss now scales by weapon rarity, making rarity a gameplay-relevant axis instead of just a cosmetic tier.

Patch 1.26.0 Durability Changes

The Riven Tides update reshaped weapon durability across the board.

Durability Loss by Rarity (the headline change)

Per-shot durability loss now scales by weapon rarity:

A legendary weapon takes roughly 85% less durability damage per shot than a common one. Rarity now significantly affects how long a weapon survives a sustained fight — not just how good its base stats are.

Other Durability Changes in 1.26.0

  • Average spawned weapon durability: 50 → 30. Floor-loot weapons start weaker out of the box. Plan to repair sooner.
  • Knockdown durability loss: -30% → -15%. Getting downed costs you less weapon health than before.
  • Repair on upgrade: +25% max durability. Upgrading a weapon at the Workshop now restores 25% of max durability on top of the upgrade benefits.

How Durability Works

  • Every weapon and piece of gear has a durability meter shown in the inventory.
  • Using the item in a raid reduces durability with each shot, hit, or activation.
  • When durability reaches zero, the item breaks and is permanently lost.
  • As durability drops, weapon performance degrades — reduced damage, increased dispersion, slower handling.
  • Tier 3 mods can cause faster durability burn as a tradeoff for stronger effects.

Managing Durability Post-1.26.0

The new rarity scaling reshapes how to think about durability:

  • Match weapon rarity to fight length. Common-tier rifles are now disposable — great for short raids or budget loadouts, terrible for boss fights or sustained PvP.
  • Bring epic or legendary weapons to long fights. The ARC Turbine, Sentinel, and Queen all push sustained engagements where durability scaling matters.
  • Repair before pushing bosses. A broken weapon mid-fight is fatal. Repair at the Workshop between raids.
  • Use the upgrade-repair trick. Upgrading a weapon now restores 25% max durability — effectively a free partial repair if you were going to upgrade anyway.
  • Don’t ignore the knockdown buff. Getting downed used to cost a meaningful chunk of durability; now it’s half. Aggressive plays are slightly cheaper to attempt.

Repair Strategy

  • Repair items at the Workshop between raids using crafting components.
  • Higher-rarity weapons cost more to repair, but the per-shot durability advantage often makes them cheaper per raid in the long run.
  • Keep a backup loadout for raids where you’re not running your best weapon — common-tier weapons aren’t worth bringing to hard zones now.
  • Match gear quality to raid difficulty. Use budget loadouts on easy maps; save legendaries for hard zones and boss runs.

Economy Impact

  • Durability is a running cost on your loadout. Factor repair costs into loadout budgeting.
  • The Patch 1.26.0 changes shift the math — lower-rarity weapons cost less to find/repair but burn faster, while higher-rarity weapons cost more upfront but last longer.
  • For high-frequency farmers, the long-term economy now favors investing in epic/legendary picks over rotating commons.
  • For one-off raids or budget players, common-tier weapons remain viable when paired with the Safe Pocket and quick extracts.
