Avian Alarm Player Project Guide
Avian Alarm Player Project Guide
The Avian Alarm is the new Player Project introduced in Patch 1.26.0 alongside the Riven Tides map. It’s a multi-stage progression system that hands out useful loot at each stage and rewards completion with a final-stage prize. Two of its rewards are functionally required for other Riven Tides content — the Dockmaster’s Detector (Stage 1) for Beachcombing, and a chunk of late-stage progress tied to defeating the new ARC Turbine boss.

How Player Projects Work (1.26.0 Refresher)
If you’re new to the Player Project system that launched in Patch 1.26.0:
- Player Projects are goal-oriented, multi-stage progression chains distinct from Daily Feats and the Raider Deck.
- You commit resources or complete objectives within a stage to advance.
- Reward structure varies: some projects pay out per-stage, some pay out per-objective within a stage, and some only on final completion.
- Rewards can include Raider Tokens, weapons, materials, and project-specific items like the Dockmaster’s Detector.
- Projects unlock at level 20 and stay available throughout the season — they’re not on a hard event deadline.
Stage 1: Earning the Dockmaster’s Detector
The Stage 1 reward is the most important part of Avian Alarm for most players. The Dockmaster’s Detector is the only way to spot buried Beachcombing loot on Riven Tides — without it, the new Last Resort event Ship Models stay hidden.
Two non-RNG ways to get a Detector:
- Complete Apollo’s Shoring Up Defenses quest (alternate path).
- Finish Stage 1 of Avian Alarm (this project).
Apollo also has a parallel quest, Battening Down, that rewards the Riven Tides Hotel Keycard No. 107 for unlocking Room 107 in Panorama Azzurro. Run both Apollo quests back-to-back to bank the Detector + the keycard in a single questline pass.
There’s also a rare drop from Toolboxes and Industrial Crates as a third path, but it’s slow.
Later Stages: Turbine Compressors
Later stages of Avian Alarm require Turbine Compressors — the unique drop from the ARC Turbine boss. Key things to know:
- The Turbine spawns on any map (not just Riven Tides) after at least 15 minutes of match runtime.
- You must defeat it and extract the Compressor to bank it. Dying with the Compressor in your bag loses it unless it’s in a Safe Pocket.
- The Turbine is the hardest fight in the game right now — squad-recommended. Soloing for the Compressor is possible with a legendary Hullcracker but high-risk.
- See the full ARC Turbine Boss Guide for phases, weak-point timing, and weapon picks.
Optimal Grind Path
If you’re working through Avian Alarm efficiently:
- Hit level 20 if you haven’t already — the project unlocks here.
- Start Stage 1. Most players will complete this within a few normal raids on Riven Tides.
- Claim the Dockmaster’s Detector. Equip it immediately.
- Pivot to Beachcombing for the parallel Last Resort event — you’re already on Riven Tides and the Detector is the bottleneck for both.
- Return to Avian Alarm later stages once you’ve banked Last Resort Merits. Schedule longer raids (15+ minutes) to spawn the ARC Turbine.
- Squad up for the Turbine fight. Compressor drops aren’t guaranteed in single attempts — you may need multiple runs to complete the project.
Solo vs Squad
Solo
- Stage 1 is solo-friendly. You can complete it with normal Riven Tides looting.
- Later stages get hard. The ARC Turbine is a squad fight; soloing requires legendary-tier weapons and patience.
- If you’re a dedicated solo player, focus on Stage 1 + Last Resort first, then squad up for Turbine farming when needed.
Squad
- The whole project is faster in a squad. Multiple Detectors mean multiple parallel Beachcombing scans.
- Coordinate Turbine pushes — one player on damage with a Hullcracker or buffed Bettina, one on overwatch, one on cover during the lightning counter-attack phase.
- Run epic / legendary tier weapons. The new durability scaling punishes common-rarity loadouts in long fights.
Connection to Other Riven Tides Content
Avian Alarm is the connective tissue of the Riven Tides update:
- Beachcombing — Stage 1 reward unlocks the entire mechanic. See Riven Tides Map Guide.
- Last Resort event — the Detector is the bottleneck. See Last Resort Event Guide.
- ARC Turbine boss — later stages need Turbine Compressors. See ARC Turbine Boss Guide.
- Riven Tides loot routes — integrate Detector + Turbine spawn timing into your raid plan. See Loot Route Guide.
FAQ
Is Avian Alarm time-limited?
No — unlike the Last Resort event (which ends May 25), Avian Alarm is a regular Player Project that stays available across the season.
Do I need to play Riven Tides to progress Avian Alarm?
Stage 1 yes — the Detector reward is most useful there. Later stages can be progressed on any map since the ARC Turbine spawns on every map.
What level do I need?
Player level 20 to unlock any Player Project, including this one.
Can I get the Dockmaster’s Detector without doing Avian Alarm?
Yes — complete Apollo’s Shoring Up Defenses quest, or get lucky with rare drops from Toolboxes / Industrial Crates.
How many Turbine Compressors do I need?
The exact requirement depends on the late-stage objective structure — we’re refining this with first-party data as we test the project.
